Through Monday's game, the Reds are now 4-3. Not too bad, for early in the season. They've been in most of the games, and the pitching has looked good for the most part.
The two kids from the Dominican Republic look like they could be pretty tough this year. Cueto and Volquez had great stuff in their outings on Thursday and Sunday. It will be interesting to see if they can put these kind of performances together on a regular basis. If they can, that will help the Reds go along way, as that would give them 4 pretty consistent starters.
The offense hasn't quite been up to snuff yet, but they have had good performances from Phillips, Keppinger and Griffey. It's only a matter of time before Encarnacion and Dunn get it going.
Best of all, the bullpen looks much improved. Cordero has been great so far, and could be the closer the Reds have been searching for over the last couple years.
I think the Reds are going to be in the hunt for the long haul, but time will tell.
